# SynergyOwl

> SynergyOwl is a web app for household finances built from uploaded bank and credit card statements. It doesn't connect to a bank or ask for bank logins. People download CSV, OFX or QFX files from their banks and upload them; SynergyOwl removes duplicates, categorises transactions, and shows spending, scheduled bills and due dates, net worth, and the monthly cost of debt (interest charged, late fees and annual fees). A household can share accounts while each member keeps private accounts that only they can see, enforced by the database. It is free during early access.

Key facts:

- No bank connections, no aggregators, no stored bank credentials.
- Imports CSV, OFX and QFX statements from any bank that offers them (for example Chase, American Express, Citi, Capital One, Discover, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, U.S. Bank, Barclays, Ally, Apple Card, Fidelity), plus PDF statements from card issuers: the due date, minimum payment, interest, fees and every transaction are read from the PDF. Screenshots of a statement or a bank app work too: the text is read on SynergyOwl's own server, never sent to an outside service.
- Households with members; private accounts are excluded from household totals and hidden from other members.
- Reports for the whole household or just one member's accounts.
- Passkeys, two-factor sign-in, sign in with Google or Microsoft.
- Full export of all data at any time.
- Works in any browser; no mobile app to install. English first; Spanish, French and Hindi planned.
- Payment reminders in the app and by email, about a week before each card payment is due, a few days before scheduled bills, and when a payment is overdue.
- AI categorisation is not available yet.
